Softly, Softly! Or: I Am A Bad Blogger

'Tis true. I am a Bad Blogger. I go silent and don't talk (or type!) for ages. But I resolve to mend my ways! We've got important stuff to do, ya know.

When we first talked about starting this site, one of our goals was build a sort of hub which would showcase the wide variety of Black thought, interests, points of view and so on, as well as point the way to people's sites and blogs. In a way, connecting us to us. That's one reason for the directory - which I see is still EMPTY, by the way! Why, why, why are people being shy about promoting themselves or their sites? Ahem.

Making connections is, of course, still one of our goals, but we'll have to work on it a bit more!

Me, I think my problem is that I've not yet taken the time to become comfortable with the site, with typing here and just feeling a part of it. Of course, since it was brand new, there was not much yet to feel a part of, but still. Anyway, part of that process (for me) is just sort of yapping about not much of anything at all, letting people get to know me, getting to know readers (if they speak!) and all that. And just letting things fall where they will, for a time. So, prepare to be yapped at.

This has nothing to do with my "hostile attitude towards authority" (as one school administrator put it) or being organized, by the way. Or not much, anyway ;).
